Here is another example. A few days ago I had an email from Ewen Chia – one of the top marketers. He offered me to buy “Insane Twitter Profits” for about ten bucks. And if I ordered right now (you know the game), I would get unlimited resale rights to the program worth 97 dollars.

Now wait, if it is worth 97 why can I buy it for 10? Maybe it is not even worth the 10.

Look at it. Twitter allows you just a short note. How do I convince someone in one sentence to buy that – if it took Ewen the usual mile long pitch page? He claims the secret is in the course which tells me how to create thousands of followers. Yeah.

Ok. I went on Twitter – about 3 hours after I got the message. There is a guy selling the course for 7 bucks! And there are about 10 posts that “Ewen recommends Insane Twitter Profits”. Within less than a day!

Can you imagine how many sales you get when you are post number 200? Just forget it!!!

I sure am wondering. These guys must be hurting. That stuff used to sell for a lot more than 10 bucks – not that it was worth anything.

Just realize that you will not make any money online with this stuff.

The chances to make money online are very slim – to say the least. Take a look at the most common options:

How about “ebay” or “Amazon”?

Years ago a friend of mine did build lamps out of horse shoes and his wife sold them on ebay – nothing to get rich, but a little extra money.

What do you find now on ebay? Thousands of offers for the same stuff! Enter any article and hundreds of ads will show up. Now look at the bids. Find any? Most likely not.

If you have something very unique AND are able to get through the junk, you might have kind of a chance – about as good as winning the lottery.

You might as well just forget it!

How about affiliate programs?

Take a second and think about it. If I had anything that sells like hot cakes, why would I pay you an outrageous comission to sell the stuff?

What it really means is, that you put up the money for the ads, because the guy who offers you the commission does not have the money or does not want to spend it.

One thing you need to know. The standard figure is 1% of sales. If 100 people click on the ad, one might buy. Do the math – and then just forget it.

How about Google?

Google gladly will take your money for “pay per click” ad or “Adwords”. Take your money is the operative word. And the same math 1 in 100 applies. One thing is for sure, you will pay.

Yes, Google will pay you money for “Adsense” – they place ads on your website. But you are looking at pennies and you need around 1000 visitors per day to make this thing work.

Wait – how about “Google pays me”? Just a scam, Google does that stuff by computer, they do not need people to place ads or links. Forget it!

This also applies to “Yahoo”, “Bing” and others.

How about the “Get rich deals”?

Again, just think about it. If I had a “auto pilot systems” that shovels 50,000 dollars into my account every week, why in the world would I bother to sell you my program?

First of all, I would create my own competition. And if I would make that kind of money – I for sure would not need your 50 bucks. Forget it!

How about getting paid for writing reviews or for clicks?

Well, that depends on how you define “getting paid”. If you do the math, most of these deals will get you about a buck an hour – you are better off flipping burgers.

Wait – the big money is in having lots of referrals and getting paid for their reviews or clicks, isn’t it? I am afraid, these people will find out pretty soon that there is no money – and you are back to zero.

Is there any money online?

 If you want to play it honest, you will not get rich. But there are two ways to make a little extra.

For one you can advertise stuff you do not need or want on “Craigslist”. They are still playing it the old fashioned way. You put your stuff on and if someone is looking for that, you can make a few bucks.

And if you have a small business you can advertise your products or services there, too. But be aware to advertise under “services”, or they will kick you out.

And here is where a website comes in handy. You place your ad with a short description of what you have to offer and refer people to your website. There you can describe in detail what you got to offer, add pictures and so on.
